Mission Statement:

Lincolnwood Residents for Responsible Spending believe in a School District that provides a quality education to our students while maintaining fiscal responsibility and spending discipline.

The School District is responsible for making sure that:
1.) The community is not taxed excessively.
2.) Taxes are sustainable. 
3.) The children receive a strong core education.

It falls to the School District to make sure the trust and funds of this community are wisely used and not squandered. 

The Community's Trust:
We, as citizens of Lincolnwood, are now being asked to trust this District with their decision that a new school facility is warranted.  This community is being asked to trust the School Boards ability to manage a project that is the largest expenditure in the Village’s history.  An expenditure that is a huge financial commitment to the taxpayers of this Village that will last for decades.  Given the history of this Board’s refusal to engage the community when citizens of Lincolnwood rightfully question the District’s School Board or Administration expenditures, it would naturally cause us to raise questions regarding past and present expenditures by the District.

This website is for the Lincolnwood Community. We hope it will be helpful in providing an understanding of the decisions our School Board and Administration are making with the our tax dollars.  

We believe after you learn how the District is operating you will come to the same conclusion as we have.   We need new leadership and a new Superintendent.  Until this School Board cleans house and gets a fiscally sound Administration in place, it should not move forward on a new school. This community deserves better, our children deserve better.  The children don’t need a fancy school,  a Superintendent that gets a fancy Cadillac,  School Board members drinking $56 bottles of fancy wine.  The children of this community need quality teachers, a strong core foundation, and a School District which puts them first.  Our children need the School Board and Administration to do better.

Cost of Education in District 74:
According to the 2011-2012 School Budget, line 19 the District will spend just over $24 million dollars to educate roughly 1200 students for an average cost of $20,000 a student.  Local Private Schools, such as Queen of All Saints can provide the same student an education for roughly $5,800 without family discounts used.
